BC HRMA’s Professional Development program is aimed at providing high quality learning opportunities in the field of HR by creating a "community of practice" where expertise and experience are shared to create value for all.
Our professional development series provides a flexible, accessible way for HR professionals to keep informed of HR trends and practices and to develop core HR skills. In addition, our programs are linked to the core compentency requirements of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
Our professional development series includes half-day and full-day workshops as well as 2-hour briefings. These programs focus on the eight competency areas ( pdf 438K) defined by the Canadian Council of Human Resources Associations (CCHRA). They support CHRP candidates writing the National Knowledge Exam and National Professional Practice Assessment, and assist CHRP holders in meeting their recertification requirements. These core programs also offer an opportunity for all HR practitioners to update their HR knowledge and skills.
