Mentoring

The BC HRMA Professional Mentoring Program (PMP) links an established human resources professional with an emerging HR practitioner, orienting, training, and guiding both participants through the relationship resulting in an enhancement of their professional development and a smooth integration into the HR community in British Columbia. This complimentary program is launched in January each year and provides participants with the opportunity to network effectively, volunteer, attend a mentoring workshop at a discounted rate, enhance their skill set and receive 1.5 CHRP recertification points per hour of participation.

Benefits include:

  • Enhancing your HR career by gaining new insights from a different perspective and by making a significant impact in a colleague's professional development
  • Obtaining 1.5 CHRP points per hour of participation towards recertification of your CHRP designation (for mentors and mentees)
  • Receiving an exclusive program participant discount to attend a Successful Mentoring: A Practical Approach professional development workshop in your region
  • Building effective relationships with other HR professionals through your partnership and by attending mentoring-specific events
To participate in the program you must:
  • Be a BC HRMA member in good standing
  • Complete an application form
  • Commit for the period of February to November
  • Participate in at least two to four hours per month of interaction with your partner
  • Complete an evaluation survey at the end of the program
