About BC HRMA membership
- Membership fees are annual and are set to expire one year from the join date.
- Memberships are transferable but not refundable later than 30 days after the date of purchase.
- There is a one-time application fee of $65.00 + GST (provided membership does not lapse).
- The application fee is waived for student members.
- All fees are subject to GST.

Membership Categories
Membership categories are based on your location, student status, retired status and whether you hold the CHRP designation.
General Member
General Members reside in the Lower Mainland and coastal British Columbia, and are engaged in the practice of human resources or have a professional interest in the mission of the Association. Note, if you are from outside the Coastal Vancouver or Fraser Valley areas (regional breakdown), please join under the "Regional General Member" category.
General Membership includes the right to vote, hold elected office and take advantage of volunteering, professional development and networking opportunities. BC HRMA General Members are able to apply for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.

Regional General Member
Regional General Members are engaged in the practice of human resources or have a professional interest in the mission of the Association. They must reside outside the Coastal Vancouver and Fraser Valley area (regional breakdown)
Regional General Membership includes the right to vote, hold elected office and take advantage of volunteering, professional development and networking opportunities. BC HRMA Regional General Members are able to apply for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.

Student Member
Student Members reside in Canada and are enrolled in a provincially-funded, recognized and accredited post-secondary educational institution to complete an undergraduate program with a focus on Human Resources. Both part-time and full-time students qualify, unless their education is being funded by their employer.
Most privileges of membership are included except the right to vote or to hold elected office. Student memberships cannot be processed online Please download the application form, and submit it by fax or email along with proof of your student status and your expected graduation date.
Proof of status is either an unofficial transcript, confirmation of current registration or a letter confirming enrolment details on official letterhead. All documentation must include your name, program title and course details.

Extra-Provincial Members
Extra-Provincial Members are those who reside outside the province of British Columbia.

CHRP Member
CHRP Members have earned the nationally-recognized Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation by successfully passing both the National Knowledge and Professional Practice Assessment Exams.
NOTE: CHRP dues are in addition to membership dues.

Regional CHRP Member
Regional CHRP Members are CHRP Members that reside outside the Coastal Vancouver and Fraser Valley areas (regional breakdown)
NOTE: Annual CHRP dues are the same for all CHRP Members.
Retired Member
Retired status is available to BC HRMA members that are fully retired from human resources practice, as long as they have been members of the Association for at least five continuous years immediately prior to retirement. CHRP designees who have transferred in within the five-year period also qualify, as long as their designation has been maintained continuously during this period.
Retired Member status includes the right to vote, hold elected office and take advantage of volunteering, professional development and networking opportunities.
