There are many volunteer opportunities at BC HRMA. Whether you are interested in volunteering to be a mentor, an Advisory Council committee member, a Conference volunteer, or participate on the CHRP Re-certification committee, the benefits of volunteering are numerous.
While expanding your network of business associates, sharing your knowledge and expertise of HR, furthering your professional development, and/or supporting the delivery of programs and services, your contributions will provide meaningful and lasting impact for all members of BC HRMA. You can also gain valuable CHRP credits towards your certification!
Awards Committee
Assists in promoting and sourcing potential candidates for the BC HRMA Awards, as well as selecting the finalists to move forward to the judging committee. These awards recognize HR professionals who have made outstanding contributions to their field.

Passionate about planning events? This small committee is looking for creative individuals to help with the planning of the various events that take place during conference including the Awards Gala.

CHRP Audit Committee
The CHRP Audit Commmitte are comprised of members who currently hold the CHRP designation and assist with an annual audit of CHRP logs. This is an appointed position.

Roundtable Chairs
Roundtables are member-driven and autonomous. They provide an opportunity for members to network with and share knowledge with other like-minded HR professionals, whether in a specific field of interest such as recruiting or taking more generalist approach to lead discussions. Any member is welcome to submit a roundtable proposal to chair a roundtable of their design. Workshop Hosts
Come host a workshop. The immediate benefit to you. You get to attend the session for FREE. Hosts may be required to attend an orientation session. Responsibilities include: arriving early, greeting the speaker and attendees, introducing the speaker, thanking them at the end of the seminar, and course evaluations. Professional Mentoring Program
The Professional Mentoring Program (PMP) links an established human resources professional (mentor) with an emerging HR practitioner (mentee) and provides the match with a framework to guide both participants through the development of the relationship. The benefits to mentoring are numerous and mentors are always needed.

The Regional Advisory Councils provide input regarding professional development session topics, information about market trends and hot topics, feedback from members in their regions, suggestions for relevant subjects for articles in HRVoice, and myriad otherregional requests that help to BC HRMA’s offerings throughtout the province.
The Advisory Council is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice. Within each regional Advisory Council are various committees which help to shape the growth and development of the programs and services that BC HRMA provides to its members.
