- All fees and dues are subject to applicable taxes according to the member’s province of residence. In BC, all fees and dues are subject to 5% GST.
- Memberships expire one year after the join date.
- Memberships are assigned to one individual. Corporate memberships are not available.
- Memberships are transferable but not refundable later than 30 days after the date of purchase.
- Annual CHRP Dues become payable on the date a member is granted the CHRP designation.
General Members are engaged in the practice of human resources or have a professional interest in the mission of the association.
General membership includes the right to vote, hold elected office and take advantage of volunteering, professional development and networking opportunities. BC HRMA General Members are eligible to apply for the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation.
Extra-Provincial Members are General Members who reside outside of British Columbia or the Yukon.
All privileges of membership are included except the right to vote or to hold elected office. Extra-provincial members residing in a Canadian province outside of BC are NOT eligible to register for the National Knowledge Exam® (NKE) or National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA).
Student Members reside in Canada and are enrolled in a provincially-funded, recognized and accredited post-secondary educational institution to complete an undergraduate program with a focus on Human Resources. Both part-time and full-time students qualify, unless their education is being funded by their employer.
Proof of current student status must be supplied at time of application and renewal. Proof of student status is either an unofficial transcript, confirmation of current registration or a letter confirming enrolment details on official letterhead. All documentation must include your name, program title and course details.

Retired Member status is available to BC HRMA members that are fully retired from human resources practice, as long as they have been members of the Association for at least five continuous years immediately prior to retirement. CHRP designees who have transferred in within the five-year period also qualify, as long as their designation has been maintained continuously during this period.
Retired Membership includes the right to vote, hold elected office and take advantage of volunteering, professional development and networking opportunities.
Annual CHRP dues are in addition to annual membership dues. General Members and Student Members are eligible to earn the nationally-recognized Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation by successfully passing both the National Knowledge Exam® (NKE) and the National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA).
