BC HRMA's professional development program includes a distinct variety of learning opportunities for HR practitioners.

Core Programming

Regional professional development programming includes half-day and full-day workshops that enable HR practitioners to return to their workplaces and apply new strategies, tools, and skills for long-term impacts. Core programming is planned annually and targeted toward key learning needs identified with and for the region. Core programming includes hot topic sessions which respond to one-time, limited time, or topics of the moment. Workshops are targeted to specific levels of professional experience, supporting HR practitioners to progressively build their knowledge and skills in specific areas of practice.

Strategic Leader Series

The Strategic Leader Series provides professional development opportunities for senior and executive HR practitioners. Strategic briefing webinars provide senior practitioners with all they need to know about key trends and practices in high-priority and emerging HR areas, while workshop-style sessions focus on engaging practitioners in a collaborative learning experience where the expertise in the room is applied to opportunities and challenges to support HR to strategically impact the business. Also, stay tuned for our program on Strategic Thinking, a high-impact series of three evening workshops, open to a limited number of HR leaders eager to accelerate their impact at the strategic level.

Symposia

Symposia represent premier professional development events. Multi-speaker symposia explore a specific theme through a variety of HR lenses. These events are specifically designed to include topics and speakers that will contribute to the currency of your HR knowledge and provide you with innovative and tested methods for applying information within your organization.

Webinars

E-learning strategies increase value to members throughout the province and beyond by offering online webinars that are convenient, current, and easily accessible. Our webinars are engaging, informative, and interactive, making it easy to close your email and stay tuned to the screen. Webinars work with your existing high-speed internet connection and telephone line. No software downloads are required.
