Transfers To/From Another Province

The CCHRA requires that persons holding the CHRP designation must maintain membership in the association responsible for CHRP certification in their province of residence. When a BC HRMA member holding the CHRP designation moves to another province, they are required to transfer their designation to the association responsible for CHRP certification in their new province of residence. An official transfer form (pdf 37K) must be submitted to BC HRMA prior to the change in residence. BC HRMA will forward the transfer form to the new association, and the new association will complete the CHRP designee’s enrolment as a professional member in their province. A transfer fee is also payable to BC HRMA.

Persons holding the CHRP designation that move into the province of British Columbia are required to apply for membership concurrent to the transfer of their designation from their former provincial association. Your provincial HR association membership is non transferable. Please note that any lapse in membership longer than 60 days between the expiry of a former provincial membership and granting of membership in BC HRMA may result in the revocation of the transferee’s designation.

Exceptions:
When a BC HRMA member holding the CHRP designation resides in another province for a limited time while maintaining their residency in British Columbia, transfer of their designation is not required.

When a BC HRMA member holding the CHRP designation resides outside of Canada.
