The Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation is the mark of a professional. It is a nationally-recognized symbol that an HR practitioner meets specific professional criteria, keeps current in the field and adheres to a professional code of ethics.
Through recertification, HR professionals are able to send a strong message to employers and the public that they are up-to-date on the latest legislation, best practices and trends – and are able to provide the most effective workplace solutions.
A 2008 survey of senior executives from more than 1,000 businesses across Canada provided clear evidence that those who hold the CHRP designation are highly valued for their contributions:
- 76% of employers agreed that human resource professionals are very important to both the day-to-day functioning and overall success of their organization.
- 74% believe there is a strategic advantage to having a human resources professional on their staff.
- 74% report that the HR professionals on their staff are involved in helping to achieve the financial well-being of the organization.
