I Am a CHRP
Road to Recertification

As of January 1, 2012, CHRP holders must submit the new version of the National Recertification Log. The previous version is no longer valid.

Holders of the Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation are required to recertify every three years through BC HRMA, or their provincial association. Recertification can be achieved either through reassessment or professional development activities.

Recertification by Reassessment
If you choose to recertify through reassessment, you must write the National Professional Practice Assessment® (NPPA) before the end of the three-year CHRP designation period. When you receive the recertification information, you must indicate your intention to write the NPPA by contacting the CHRP registrar and register for the next NPPA exam session. There is a cost of $500 plus HST to write the NPPA. Please note: the degree requirement does not apply to current CHRP holders who are rewriting the NPPA in order to recertify. More details.

Recertification by Professional Development Activities
If you choose to recertify through professional development activities, you will be asked to outline the activities you have engaged in over the last three years in the National Recertification Log. In the National Recertification Log, various professional development activities have been assigned points. You must acquire a minimum of 100 points worth of professional development activities within the three-year period. There is a cost of $55 plus HST to recertify when submitting your log. Please note: recertification logs are only accepted a maximum of six months before your expiration date and must be submitted with an application form. More details.

Please note: As of January 1, 2012, CHRP holders must submit the new version of the National Recertification Log. The previous version is no longer valid. Find out more or download a copy.
