Judging Criteria

The BC HRMA Award of Excellence - Innovation requires a demonstrated level of accomplishment in several areas. While the nominee or team may excel in one or more of the areas, a demonstrated accomplishment in all three is required to receive the award.
  1. Innovation & Creativity - The program or project is innovative, creative and goes above and beyond generally followed best practices.
  2. Strategic Alignment - The program or project demonstrates the nominee's/team's ability to align HR strategies to organizational strategic goals.
  3. Results & Sustainability - The program or project demonstrates significant and measurable results for a period of time as appropriate for the accomplishment.
Judging Process

The judging process for the Awards of Excellence is broken down into two separate stages.

Nominations are first passed on to the award committee panel. This panel is responsible for examining each submission and shortlisting nominations based on the award criteria.

Shortlisted finalists make a presentation to a final judging panel (see dates above) on a predetermined topic. The final judging panel then carefully selects the award recipients based on the combination of written nomination submission and the presentation.

The distinguished selection panel is comprised of leading CEOs, BC HRMA Board Members, past recipients, senior human resources practitioners and consultants with insight and experience in initiatives and people practices programs.
