Eligibility
As a nominee you must:
Be a BC HRMA member in good standing at the time of nomination.
Work in British Columbia or work for an organization with established operations in British Columbia.
If you are selected as a finalist you must:
Agree to complete the full nomination form with further documentation by February 6, 2012.
Consent in writing to the nomination and publication of both name and photo in connection with the BC HRMA Award of Excellence.
If you are selected as the award recipient you must:
Be able to travel to Vancouver for the award video production the week of March 5, 2012 in Vancouver (award recipients are responsible for covering their own travel expenses).
Be available to attend the Awards Luncheon during the BC HRMA 50th Annual Conference, on Friday, April 27, 2012 (award recipient will receive complimentary tickets to attend the luncheon).
Award Process
The judging process for the Award of Excellence is broken down into two separate stages. Preliminary nominations are reviewed by an award committee panel who selects their top choices to move onto the second step which is completing a full nomination package. Shortlisted finalists will then submit a full nomination package which will be put forth to the judging committee for the selection of the award recipient.
(There are no longer any presentations or interviews by the judges for the Awards of Excellence. Finalists may however receive a phone call to discuss their nomination by a committee member.)
The award recipient will be notified in advanced in order to make arrangements for video filming.
Award recipients will be announced at the Award Luncheon on April 27, 2012.
Judging Criteria
The BC HRMA Award of Excellence requires a demonstrated level of accomplishment in three different areas. While the nominee may excel in one or more of the areas, a demonstrated accomplishment in all three is required to receive the award.
Leadership - The nominee demonstrates leadership and vision in championing people practices and motivating others to effect positive change, is a role model, and shares their knowledge and experience with others.
Organizational Impact - The nominee frequently champions change in the pursuit of continuous improvement and strategic advantage for the organization.
Commitment to the HR Profession - While serving as an ambassador for the organization, the nominee is involved in activities that contribute to the HR community and profession as well as being focused on their own professional development and growth.
Judging Committee
The distinguished judging committee will be comprised of BC HRMA Board Members, past recipients, senior human resources practitioners and consultants with insight and experience in initiatives and people practices programs.
Terms and Conditions
Both BC HRMA members and non-members are encouraged to be a nominator.
Nominees must be members in good standing of BC HRMA at the time of nomination.
Nominations are accepted from public or private sector individuals.
Self-nominations cannot be made in this category.
The BC HRMA award committee reserves the right to check the nominee’s references and to confirm the accuracy of the information provided in the nomination package.
There is no fee to submit a nomination, however, award recipients are responsible for any travel costs related to their participation in the awards program.
