Chair - Denise Lloyd, CHRP

After one year as the Incoming Chair, Denise is now in her first year as the Chair. She is an HR and Management Consultant with her own firm, EngagedHR, and her specialty is working with both the non-profit and corporate hi-tech sectors.

Outgoing Chair - Michelle Rowsell

Michelle is the Outgoing Chair of the Vancouver Island Advisory Council and is in her sixth year serving on the council. She served two years as the Chair and prior to that she worked in the Public Relations and Networking portfolios. Michelle is a Manager of Human Resources with the Public Affairs Bureau.

Awards - Helen Wale

Helen joined the Advisory Council in 2010 in the Communications Portfolio and this year leads the Awards Portfolio. Helen is Director - Service Centre, People and Organizational Development with the Vancouver Island Health Authority.

Communications - Lorie Hunchak

Lorie has been in the lead role on the Communications Portfolio for three years and is always looking for great stories and hot topics for our BC HRMA publications. Lorie is an HR Consultant with IH and Associates Consulting.

Membership - Judy Collins, CHRP

Judy joined the Advisory Council three years ago and has been responsible for the Membership Portfolio. This portfolio is responsible for calling new members, hosting Member Breakfasts in Victoria and connecting with potential members for Vancouver Island. Judy is an HR Assistant with the Times Colonist.

Mentoring - Deborah Lang, CHRP

Deborah is our Mentoring Portfolio Advisor and is in her sixth year on the Advisory Council. She is with the Human Resources Department at the University of Victoria. Working with Deborah in this portfolio are Theresa Carrie, CHRP from Shaw Cable and Carol Gosse, CHRP from Camosun College.

Networking - Ken D'Sa, CHRP

Last year, you may have seen Ken at almost every mingle as he was one of the Networking Ambassadors who greeted you and connected you with other attendees. This year Ken leads the Networking Portfolio. A recent CHRP and Camosun graduate, Ken is currently looking for employment opportunities.

Post Secondary - Jon Waplington, CHRP

After winning the student scholarship award last year for the Vancouver Island Region, Jon joins the Advisory Council in the Post Secondary Portfolio. Jon graduated last year from the Human Resources Program at Camosun College, has just finished a short term assignment and is looking for his next opportunity in the HR field.

Professional Development & CHRP - Jolie Wist, CHRP

Jolie was the top scorer on the CHRP exam in Fall 2007 and heads up the Professional Development and CHRP Portfolio on Vancouver Island. Jolie is an HR Consultant with the University of Victoria.

Public Relations - Norma McCrea

After a two year break, Norma returns to the council this year as the lead for the Public Relations Portfolio. When she's not out spreading the word about BC HRMA, she is the Branch Manager at The 500 Staffing Inc.

Volunteers - Rebecca Brownell, CHRP

This is Rebecca's first year on the Vancouver Island Advisory Council. She is an Organizational Development Consultant with the Ministry of Attorney General.
