Michelle Rowsell, CHRP Candidate

Michelle is the Chair of the Vancouver Island Advisory Council and has been involved with the council for four years, working in the Public Relations and Networking portfolios. Michelle is a Manager of Human Resources with the Public Affairs Bureau.

Silke Pleus, CHRP

Silke is in her seventh year on the Advisory Council. After spending two years as teh Chair, she now mentors Michelle from her role as Past Chair. Silke works with the BC Pension Corporation as the Assistant Director of Talent & Organizational Development.

Dawn Robson, CHRP

Dawn is a member of the Provincial Board of Directors for BC HRMA and acts as the Provincial Liaison to the Vancouver Island Advisory Council. Dawn is Director of Human Resources with NeverBlue Media.

Nicole Beach, CHRP

Nicole is in her first year on the Advisory Council and is responsible for the Awards Portfolio. Nicole has been an avid supporter of BC HRMA, acting often as a host at professional development events, and is an HR Business Consultant in Victoria. Working with her on this portfolio is Bruno Dragani (Mid Island).

Lorie Hunchak

In her first year on the Advisory Council, Lorie has taken on the lead role in the Communications Portfolio - this means she or one of her team may be contacting you to write an article or provide a member profile. Lorie is an HR Consultant with IH and Associates Consulting. Working with Lorie are Brenda Lee Paul, CHRP (North Island) and Sylvie Lamothe (Victoria).

Denise Lloyd, CHRP

Denise joined us this year on the Advisory Council in the Membership Portfolio. In addition to her and the team making welcome calls to new members, you'll find her at the Member Breakfasts held every two months in Victoria. Denise is an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant with her own firm Lloyd & Associates. Working with Denise on this portfolio is Judy Collins, CHRP (Victoria) and Mickie Donley, CHRP (North Island).

Deborah Lang, CHRP

Deborah is our Mentoring Portfolio Advisor. She is also the Chair of the Mid-Island Roundtable and has been with the Advisory Council for four years. She works as the Associate Vice President of Organizational Development at Coastal Community Credit Union. Working with Deborah in this portfolio are Theresa Carrie, CHRP and Carol Gosse, CHRP.

Meg Burrows

Meg is the 2009 recipient of the Rising Star Award and is in her first year on the Advisory Council after volunteering as an Ambassador at the Victoria Mingles. Meg is responsible for the Networking Portfolio. Working with Meg on this portfolio is Jocelin Caldwell and Kathy Obad, CHRP.

Jolie Wist, CHRP

Jolie was the top scorer on the CHRP exam in Fall 2007 and heads up the Professional Development and CHRP Portfolio on Vancouver Island. Jolie is an HR Consultant with the University of Victoria. Working with Jolie in this portfolio is Brenda Kennedy, CHRP.

Ruth Eden, CHRP

Ruth is in her third year on the Advisory Council, previously volunteering as a Mingle Ambassador. Ruth is responsible for the Post Secondary Liaison Portfolio and works as a Recruiter for Red Seal Recruiting Solutions. Working with Ruth on this portfolio is Denyse Koo.

Irene Schamhart, CHRP

This is Irene's first year on the Advisory Council and she is responsible for the Public Relations Portfolio. Irene is the VP of HR and Administration at Carmanah Technologies Corporation. Working with Irene in this portfolio is George Hanson (Mid Island) and Cynthia Pemberton Fuller (Victoria).

Dean Gamblewest

Dean is in his second year with the Advisory Council. Dean is a Human Resources Consultant with the BC Public Service Agency and is responsible for the Volunteer Portfolio. Working with Dean in this portfolio is Heather Lane (Victoria).
