The Coastal Vancouver Region offers a wide range of professional development programs and services to over 2300 members and 5000 affiliates from the cities you see below. A number of educational, networking and volunteer opportunities are arranged throughout the year for HR professionals in Vancouver and the surrounding areas including professional development workshops and roundtables, covering a variety of topics. Many new Symposiums and our annual Conference are also being held here this year. In addition, the Coastal Vancouver region has an active mentoring program with over 250 participants in this area alone! Networking opportunities are also provided on a regular basis, including monthly "mingles", an annual holiday Silent Auction as well as the Provincial Golf Tournament.

Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council:

In an effort to enhance membership growth, regional representation, and membership value in each region, a structural reorganization of our six Advisory Councils was implemented in 2004. Each Council is now made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice and is responsible for 13 portfolios, which you will see below. The Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council has been instrumental in enhancing the experience of our members by being a conduit of information between the members and the Provincial Office, bringing a local perspective to new initiatives, generating volunteering opportunities to maximize member engagement, increasing the profile of the Association by exposing it to the broader business community and contributing to the strategic and operational activities of the Association in general. The Coastal Vancouver Advisory Council welcomes input from all BC HRMA members who would like to be involved with the growth of HR practice in the region.
