CEO
Simon Evans, CHRP
Simon brings significant experience and capability in both association and corporate management roles. Before joining BC HRMA,
Simon was the CEO of the BC Restaurant and Foodservices Association (BCRFA), where he contributed to the association achieving
a prominent position in its industry. He has contributed to many industry committees and was a key participant in a taskforce for
tourism/hospitality human resources. Prior to his role with the BCRFA, he spent 17 years with 7-Eleven Canada, in business development,
marketing, operations and human resources roles, eventually serving as Vice President, Human Resources.
Simon immigrated to Canada in 1974, transferring from Chevron Oil (UK) to Chevron Canada, where his responsibilities included regional
marketing and provincial training. He has been a member of BC HRMA for over 25 years.
Simon also has an impressive record of volunteering and community involvement including many years of service to such diverse organizations
as the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Canada, Swan-e-set Bay & Country Club, the North Vancouver Recreation Commission and the North Shore
Light Opera Society. He is also Past-Chair of the Board for "go2, the resource for people in tourism".
