Fraser Valley

The Fraser Valley Advisory Council handles the planning and implementation of local BC HRMA activities and is made up of members representing a broad range of HR experience levels and areas of practice.

BC HRMA members are encouraged to participate on the Advisory Council and/or provide suggestions and ideas of local interest. The Fraser Valley Advisory Council welcomes input from all BC HRMA members who would like to be involved with the growth of HR practice in the region. A call for volunteers on the Council is made in the spring each year.

Your Fraser Valley Advisory Council:

Chair – Karen Ayres, CHRP

Karen is President and Principal of Corporate Inspirations, an executive coaching and consulting firm. She is a strategically skilled change management professional with experience in integration projects for mergers and acquisitions leading high powered complex teams through transition. It is Karen’s fourth year serving on Council.

Outgoing Chair – Heather Johnson, CHRP

Heather is currently the Senior VP, Human Resources for Prospera Credit Union. She has over 20 years of experience in various industries in progressively senior HR roles, and is currently leading all facets of human resources and employee development and training. Heather is in her fifth year serving on the Advisory Council and supports Member Events & Networking, Public Relations and Post-Secondary Portfolios.

Gena Porcina

Administration – Gena Porcina, CHRP

Gena is the Human Resources Specialist at Community Savings Credit Union. This is her second year as a volunteer with BC HRMA.

Awards – Maureen E. McMahon, CHRP

Maureen is the Director, Human Resources for Gateway Property Management Corporation. It is her first year on the FV Advisory Council.

CHRP and Professional Development – Jayne Barron, CHRP

Jayne is a Career Development Coach and experienced HR professional. She has volunteered in many organizations at different capacities and it is her second year on the Advisory Council.

Communications – Lauri Donald, CHRP

Lauri is the HR Advisor at Choices Markets. It is her first year on the FV Advisory Council.

Communications – Dee Sharma, CHRP

Dee is the Director of Human Resources for CGA-Canada. He has 13+ years of experience in people strategy and organizational development through effective recruiting, professional development, succession and strategic planning and HR metrics. This is Dee’s first year on the Advisory Council.

Monica Seymour

Membership – Monica Seymour, CHRP

Monica is an emerging HR practitioner and a recent graduate of the HR program at BCIT. Although she has volunteered on the membership committee, this is her second year of serving on the council.

Mentoring – Catherine Hoy

Catherine is the Founder and Principal of ‘Care At Work’, a consulting and training company helps HR and management to achieve and maintain the emotional and mental wellness of their employees.  She is a Professional Spiritual Care Practitioner by completing a Master’s Degree at Trinity Western University. This is her first year on the FV Advisory Council.

Lyne Moussa

Member Events and Networking – Lyne Moussa, CHRP

Lyne is the Manager of Health and Wellness at Coast Capital Savings Credit Union. This is her fourth year serving on the Advisory Council.

Post-Secondary – Lindsay Thorpe, CHRP

Lindsay is the Human Resources Specialist for E.B. Horsman & Son, an electrical wholesaler based out of South Surrey. Lindsay is an avid Social HR Enthusiast and her areas of interest include employee engagement and corporate health and wellness promotion. This is Lindsay’s first year on the FV Advisory Council and she volunteered in the same portfolio for the GV Advisory Council in the past year.

Volunteer – Raveen Sangha, CHRP

Raveen is a Talent Acquisition Advisor with Coast Capital Savings. She graduated from Kwantlen Polytechnic University with BBA in Human Resources Management. This is Raveen’s second year on the FV Advisory Council.
